About MACCO (Madison Area Chinese Community Organization)
The main objectives of MACCO is to facilitate communications among the
Chinese community and between the Chinese community and the community at large;
to promote involvement of Chinese community in social activities, to promote
and facilitate exchanges b
Objectives
To provide a
forums for discussions concerning the welfare and the future of the Madison area Chinese
community.
To facilitate
communications between the Madison
area Chinese community and the other communities.
To promote
cultural, educational, and business exchanges between China and the city of Madison, and to enhance the
understanding and friendship between the American and Chinese people.
To enhance
educational, cultural, economic and recreational programs to improve the
quality of life of the Chinese community.
Organization
Membership/Communication
- Responsible for membership recruitment and maintenance of membership
data base. Also, for communication within the Chinese community through a
newsletter and/or a webpage.
Public
Relation - Responsible for public relations with local government officers
and other community leaders, and for planning and engaging cultural,
business and educational exchanges with China.
Finance -
Responsible for raising and managing funds for operation of the Organization
and to manage membership fee as it arises.
Education -
Responsible for organizing extracurricular programs for Chinese children
and for educational activities within Chinese community
Culture/Recreation
- Responsible for organizing cultural, recreational, and sports
activities.
Coordinator -
Responsible for overall coordination and organization of the committee
functions. The coordinator may appoint one or two assistants to assist
his/her duties, and a secretary.
